Superfakes Title Sequence
April 2006.
Undabo was asked to create a stylised Title Sequence for “Superfakes” to be
broadcast on prime time Sky One.
The piece was designed to look textural and simplistic with a stylised 60’s
feel reminiscent of the treatment Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas gave
the to the tile sequence of “Catch me if you Can” but created with in 3D space
to allow for more elaborate camera moves to illustrate depth whilst retaining
the monochromatic look and groovy 60’s retro quality and pace.
Mark Harrison designed the Saul Bass inspired look and feel for the piece,
and allowed the visualisation and portrayal of it to be fairly open to interpretation.
The result is a very effective and striking animation complemented perfectly
by a musical arrangement created by Richard House.
Superfakes was initially broadcast during June and July 2006 on Sky One and
in its refined state is a three part series exposes the fraudsters who have
duped even those closest to them, including a man who stole the identity of
a dead child, a real-life Mrs Doubtfire, a number of men who have managed to
pass themselves off as professional footballers and a woman who accused an
innocent man of rape to cover up a one night stand from her husband.
